Perhaps the people of Peru would prefer to have a subjectively happier life rather than a higher gross domestic product. Perhaps they would prefer to have a better health system that is not based upon profit motive.

Perhaps many people would not want to work overtime and export their natural resources.

The goal of increasing a GDP does not guarantee that these benefits will be translated into a better life for the citizens of this country. Perhaps we need to be more concerned about the efficiency of our life on this planet rather than the quantity of consumption.

Our planet has limited resources.
