I have to do a report but im having trouble finding info on the retaliation

It is a minor thing called the War in the Pacific. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. The US declared war. 3 years and a few months later 2 atom bombs were dropped on Japan.

Retaliation implies "response". Perhaps you are researching the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. If you are, do not look for retaliation - look for attack.

The main point is the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaci. Research those bombings, it'll help you significantly.

Do you mean WWII or the bombings of Nagasaki & Hiroshima (which were not relatiations but a way to end the war).
