It shouldn't be done. Government already regulates so many things and does not need to regulate any more.

However, if you are adament about doing this...buy your own business and do not allow tobacco in your business. Don't allow tobacco in your home....that can be your way to fight the fight against tobacco. However, making it illegal makes no sense in a free society where many people rely on tobacco for their jobs, and the gov't relies on tobacco for additional taxable income.

Why ban tobacco? People are allowed to be stupid. Even FDR knew the wisdom of encouraging people to smoke ---

They pay taxes into the system and they die before they can collect or shortly after starting to collect.

People can be discouraged to use tobacco by increasing the cost to them of using it.

Employers should get out of the insurance underwritting business -- provide employees with the amount of cash that they current tell you it cost them to insure you (Ask what the COBRA amount would be for you?) Employee could then buy their own insurance --- Smokers would pay more for the same coverage than non-smokers. They will die sooner. So they will have to pay more as well as pay for the smokes.

Rational market forces would encourage people to quit.

No government needed.

More information. Who's banning it? The government? Which government(s)?

Where is it being banned? Anywhere in the country? In public places?

What about it is being banned? Producing it? Selling it? Purchasing it? Using it?

How is it being enforced? Fines? Imprisonment?

Answering these questions effectively answers yours, I think.

All you can do is try to educate people and give them the facts. I think Television rots the brain, should we ban that too?
