Enlisting is a matter of personal choice, but people who believe in our nation and what we represent are more likely to enlist.

Because its very easy to SAY you support the troops, but putting your life where your mouth is and standing alongside them is the best support you could give them. Insisting they are treated fairly and equitably is another but you aren't even willing to do that. SAYING youre a strong American doesnt mean you ARE, but it DOES make you look cowardly when you are unwilling to defend the country you say you love so much.

I am 46. I am too old to go BACK into the Army, but if they would take me, I would be over in Iraq right now, and hopefully, my experience in the Army before might actually translate into saving a few of those troops lives. Can you think of a BETTER way to support them?

Or is talk all youre good for?

probably the same reason anyone who supports anything usually puts their money where their mouth is. Otherwise you are just giving lip service, and that isn't really strong on defense or support, is it?

is Marine Core anything like an apple core?

Because so many people were so eager to get into this fight, yet so few are actually willing to support it directly. And when you challenge them on their lack of sacrifice they make excuse after excuse as to why their particular circumstances don't allow them to serve.

Yet they are more than willing to call people who disagree with them defeatists and traitors.

It is the worst form of cowardice and hypocrisy.

You have it kind of backwards. Our position is because we feel that it is hypocrisy to ask others to do, what you are yourself unwilling to do. If you are asking others to die for a war that you support, then you should also be willing to risk your own life for that same war! What is so hard to understand about that? *sm*
