Names starting with X are just too pretentious. Try Zara if you really like how it sounds.

I agree with the first poster... names starting with X are just a bit much... Xander is okay because it's a derivative of Alexander...but Xara is a name your daughter will have to spell and pronounce for the rest of her life. Teachers will mispronounce it, they'll probably read it wrong at her graduation and really... Dr. Xara? I just don't see it. If you're really hung on Xara at least spell it Zara (I still don't really like the name... but at least people will be able to pronounce it).
What about Lilliana, Luisa, Devon, Mani....

I see nothing wrong with the name Xara Dawn. It's pretty, even. It goes really well with you son's name too.
You are right that people don't like different names, but the more people get used to a name, the more they will like it. I am sure that as you pick this name with love, your daughter will love it too.

I like other posters' suggestion: use Zara instead of Xara. Zara is beautiful, Xara is not. Zara is very unique but still nice. Xara sounds uneducated and weird.
Xander is more acceptable because it's usually short for Alexander.

I like Xara, but I don't like it with Dawn. I think it would sound better with a longer middle name. What do you think about Xara Marissa
Xara Melayna (I like this the best)
Xara Christian (I really like this too.)
Xara Allison
Xara Jasmine
Hope I helped!!! Good luck!

Hmm, I prefer Zara. Xara looks odd to me. I don't like made-up names.
I also love Xanthe.

It's not a bad name. I am just not sure if you are pronouncing it sort of like Sarah (but with the z sound) or Xara rhyming with far.
It reminds me of one of my favorite 'Z' girl names: Zahra (Zahra rhyming with far) I've always liked Zahra Lily.
BTW, I love Xander matthew. Xander is on my own boy list.

I like it, but I am just more used to it being spelled with a Z (Zara). It is infact, quite a nice name. Sounds a little more mysterious than sara and even more sophisticated, if you will. Nice. Also, consider Lara. It is short for Larissa. Very nice too. But the name you have, if you are feeling it..it is a perfectly respectable and decent name and not too uncommon at all.

I actaully know several people with that name. I think it's quite Beautiful and elagant. I once heard a rude comment about the name from a person named Sara which I thought was ridiculous. I personally would not name my child that not because I don't like the name, just my family is spanish so it never appealed to us for our name of our child. But it is a great name so you should defininteley go for it.
Don't take nay name suggestions you obviousley Love this name.

I like Xara (I like Zara better), but to name your kids Xara and Xander is really cheesy.
