I had viruses on my computer but got Kapersky and everything seemed to be back to normal but when I went to add or remove programs a message comes up and says: This operation is cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. I am the system administrator and on the toolbar, where you can open or close the windo it has an open folder and next to it, it says "Restrictions". anyone had this one?

No, I've not had that.. but then I use Linux so I'm virus free.

If someone has placed malicious code on your system, then format & re-install. It'll get you back to a clean system.

Use some other software. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
