He wouldn't lie or spin, or keep people oppressed for power. Jesus wasn't into power. He has no hate. He wants people to prosper and help one another - be charitable. He didn't suggest a communist state.

No it is those BS'er (libs) who haven't a clue about Jesus's words OR the Bible
"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat." 2 Thessalonians 3:10
Notice that it doesn't say that those who CAN NOT work should not eat. No, we should have compassion on and help out those people. But if someone can work, yet WILL NOT work, then he's left to the consequences of his actions (or inactions in this case).
Here are a couple other verses on this same line of thinking:
Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth. Proverbs 10:4
How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest -- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man. Proverbs 6:9-11

I think Jesus Christ is far beyond our political system. When you rule over the universes and the heavens, doesnt American politics seem so small. I think he is into the soul saving business. Because, whether you have money or dont, a Democrat or a Republican, isnt the fight the same? Realize your ways and ask Jesus to save you, is this not it? And then live life to the fullest, not in sin, not in vain. Try to reach others to Jesus and also worship Jesus. Man, I tell you, we had a great worship service today. clap your hands and praise aloud!

While one can argue specifics , there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Christ was a socialist and His entire ministry was all about the poor/the powerless, the needy, the sick and the supremacy of love and forgiveness over earthy materialism/wealth etc.

Most theologians agree that the essence of Christ's message is found in the Sermon on the Mount (i.e.The Beatitudes) which read exactly like a socialist definition.

No, Christ wasn't a politician. Republicans support your right to care and provide for anyone you choose. They just don't believe it's the government's place to enable and encourage people to be lazy.

No. Jesus was into freewill giving, out of the goodness of your heart. The Bible says "God loves a cheerful giver."
Democrats are into forced charity, as in "give your money to the people who are too lazy to work or you'll go to jail for tax evasion!" That doesn't make me too cheerful.

Interesting how you can squish those two things together. He would probably be a moderate in today's world.
The hating part is plain absurd.

First I loved shylocks answer. And he's absolutely right. But if you wanna look at it in the way of your question, then yes it did make him a liberal and a democrat. For more republican bashing check out my blog.

No it does not. Because Jesus gave you the choice to follow him or not. A democrat says if you worked hard all your life and managed to amass some security for your retirement you must give it to the poor who did not.
And besides making a correlation between Jesus and a politician says a lot about you.

Notice that he doesn't distinguish between private organizations and the government. What's important is that the poor are taken care of effectively.
