m 21 years old girl. i have been masturbating for last 2 years. during my periods i avoid to do masturbation but sometime i do it. kindly tell me is it harmful? i afraid that it may cause any harm or injury? one thing i like to mention is that i only touch external skin . i never insert something..is it cause HIV

No, your not going to hurt yourself from masturbating. And you can't get HIV from yourself, it is contracted from sexual contact or needle sharing with someone else that already has it.

Masturbation is never harmful unless you experiment in self harm. Enjoy your body for what it is.
Even insertion would not be a problem, as your body is designed for that.
Your periods are simply a way of renewing your body to become fertile again - It has nothing to do with STD's.
Why are you asking such a common sense question????
I think a doctors advice on human sexuality could teach you a few things that you missed out on in your younger, more formative years.

There is nothing physically harmful about masturbating during your period, just a little messy. HIV/AIDS is caused by a virus that you catch directly from other people's blood or body fluids, so masturbating can't give it to you.

It is not harmful. Has nothing to do with HIV. It can actually make your periods less painful. so keep it up! I do! :)

Um...I don't think it's harmful, but I'm sorry...eew. As for the HIV thing....if you're saying you don't insert anything like say for instance a vibrator, if you're the only one who uses it, you shouldn't contract HIV, also, you can't contract an STD because of masturbation.

Not harmuful at all. It can actually help with your cramps. It is impossible to get HIV from touching yourself.

You are completly fine. You can do "the deed" whenever you please. Also, inserting something will not cause HIV. You can only get HIV for another person's bodily fluid (blood, vaginal fluid, or sperm)....
