Sort of both but when I think about a southerner I think about someone living in Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Alabama. Smile....

I would say a Floridian as Florida has lost much of it's Southern flavor because of such a huge influx of people from other places. An older native Floridian is a rare thing... being a Southerner is as much a state of mind as location, so you could be that also...

A Floridian but not necessary a southern. I have lived in South Florida since 1959, but because my family came from the North, and South Florida have never really been considered Southern, I do not see it as the real south

Shirley - I think you are closer to being a Floridian than a southerner! But enjoy the warm weather anyway! CJ
