I'm 14 and all my friends do.
I have a few, but I feel i have to hide them from my mom.
I just don't think she understands,
basically, I just wear them because of changing in the dance locker room..

See, I would tell you that thongs are gross if you just anted to wear them for fun. Bur since you have a reason behind wearing them (wearing them at dace) I really don't blame you. I do ballet, and it's either wear itty-bitty underwear, or nothing at all. I personally don't wear thongs to dance because it feels weird to do a grande plie with string goin' up your butt! Anyway. You have a reason to have the underwear and your mother should understand that.

because they think that wearing thongs means that their daughter is going to be out having sex and things like that. My mom always let me wear them because I did dance and vpl looks really bad so talk to your mom don't hide them or you'll end up with a very worried mommy and you don't want that

My mom doesnt care because I told her I had some shorts that you could see underwear lines through and she suggested some thongs

They think that it will lead to sex and other things that are inappropriate for 14 year old girls. Or they think that they are too revealing. Some parents think that, but I don't really understand because you're going to have pants on over them... Maybe you should just tell your mom. But you don't have to.

Mom's think that because your wearing a thong your having sex or something...When really they are just wearing whats comfortable for them...Mom's just are be overprotective.

i have been wearing them since i was about 13, my mum doesnt care, she personally doesnt like them or understand why people wear them, but i like them, i dont do any dance or ballet or anything i just like them, they are comfy and feel good, and i love all the cute prints and styles...
at least you have a good reason to wear them, if your mum doesnt like them then tell her why u wear them, i think most mums think its a sign of their daughter going ot and having sex r being promiscuous, i no thats what my mum thought and still does, she has been waiting for me to get pregnant since i was 13..

If you want to be your own person, why do you have to do things like the other girls do? If they jumped off a bridge, would you? Your mom just doesn't want you looking slutty.
