I'm 5 weeks 2 days pregnant and for a week now I've had a bruise on my thigh. I don't even know how it got there! I know I don't have low iron. First of all, I don't have any of the symptoms for anemia and I've been eating a lot of foods with iron in them, mostly spinach. I can't take the prenatal vitamins because they make me break out, so my doc and I developed a diet plan for me.

My question is: What would make these bruises hang out for so long? It hasn't changed colors or anything. Has this happened to anyone else?

Well, I don't bruise easily. Honestly, I think I've had less than 10 bruises in my entire lifetime. And the ones I did get were caused by pretty significant trauma. Car wreck once, I dropped a cast iron skillet on my foot, things like that. And they left within a few days... maybe that's just my body. That's why I find these bruises so weird!

I dont know about you, but whenever I get a bruise it hangs out for like 2-3 weeks, especially if its on my legs.

As far as I know its normal.

I don't bruise easily either, but i think when your pregnant you tend to forget things(just like i do) and you may have just bumped yourself and not even known it, if the bruise gets any bigger or does not appear lighter within a few days/week. I would talk to my doctor about it. Good luck and congratulations.

Did you speak to your doctor about this? If he hasn't been saying anything about it then I guess it's normal. Talk to him and ask if they normally go away within a certain time.
