I am just sure I saw a bald eagle picking up a dead armadillo yesterday. It was a huge brown bird with a white tail and white head, yellow beak...looked just like a bald eagle. But I didn't think they ventured this far south, so I thought I would check.

Bald (never could figure out why they call them bald) eagles have been present in Oklahoma for thousands of years.

Migration of the armadillo as far north as Oklahoma is a fairly recent event.

No other bird in usa resembles an adult bald eagle. an immature golden eagle I guess could be mistaken for a young baldy before it get the famous white head

You absolutely do have bald eagles in Oklahoma. They appear on the official birding checklist for the state: http://www.okbirds.org/2006_obrc_ok_checklist.pdf

i think of previous ben franklin replaced into ideal heading in the right direction. the turkey is smarter and in case you have spent any time around eagles you will understand how huge a scavanger they are easily. only searching for a hand-out or some thing lifeless. and just about clever as a stump . nasty fowl . we deserve extra advantageous here interior the U. S. i'm going to take smarts over fairly any day and as nicely turkeys style extra advantageous

They are occasionally seen in Oklahoma in winter...see link. It's more likely you saw a baldy than an African fish eagle!
