tell him that there is a little hole (or what ever you prefer on the roof) and santa squeezes though and goes down it and when he comes out a magical fireplace appears there and disappers when he leaves!!.
or you can say
since he is so magical(or something) when him and the reindeers land on the roof a magical chimney appears and he puts all the presents there and the goes back up and makes the fireplace chimney!
you can tell little kids anything these days. either one will be fine .
i told my little brother this and he was like! WOAH! no way! thats so cool!
HAHA!
hoped i helped!

Tell him he has to leave a majic key. it has a cute poem:
We don't have a chimney for you to climb through,
But if you don't visit my our house I don't know what I'll do.
Some say you are magic and can use any old key
As long as we hang it out in a place you're sure to see.
So we're leaving this old key right outside our door
Saying our prayers, jumping in bed, and we won't worry anymore.
This is how you make one go to the following site.

If i were you, I would tell my nephew that because Santa is magic he will come into the house underneath the stockings as he does at all homes. also you could tell him (depending on age) that he could make his own fire place out of the fold out poster board. he also could write Santa a letter asking the big man himself

take the answer from The Santa Clause (with Tim Allen) he went down a pipe and a fireplace magically appeared. then when he went back up it went back to being a wall again, that should fool him for at least one year (unless he's seen the movie)

Santa is magic. Where there are no chimneys he creates one for a magical moment....which disappears with him when he goes back up.

get a little doll dress it up as an angel and then get an old key that's not used anymore and put it in the angels hand or pocket wherever your nephew can see it ...
and tell him that the key is magical and it will let santa into your house ....
it has worked great with all three of my kids..
good luck..
