I believe what I say, I just shouldn't always SAY it. It's not hormonal, because I had a total hysterectomy a year and a half ago. .........Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, absolutely. Age has definitely loosened my tongue. I don't have the time or energy to try to interpret double talk. My motto - say what you mean and mean what you say. The world would be so much better if we only could.

I found that before I retired I was careful, being afraid that I would offend someone.

I was out in the work a day world and dealing with associates and also spent many years dealing with my kids teacher for years on end.

Once I retired I finally reached the point that I was tired of the know it all type and decided if they were going to come in my home/my space that they could leave their B___ SH__ at the door.

At the age of 72 I don't want negative people to come into my sanctuary and spread it any more.

I need a laugh everyday and slowly they have got the message and I'm much happier. I'm not sure if they are, but "Frankly I don't give a damn."

Been there. Done that. I rest my case.

I havent had a hysterectomy.

I haven't experienced a hysterectomy, lately but I had a colonoscopy!

To be serious, I have felt that older people should be in places where there opinions would help!

There's nothing more frustrating than having a good idea, and no one wanting to hear it!

I spend to much time telling my kids the right thing to do, and getting a predictable responce.

Go Figure!

My mother has experienced this. She was always a quiet woman who NEVER swore or complained a lot or even complain at a minimum. But, she had a hysterectomy after 5 kids, she lost her husband and both her parents, and now at the age of 65...she ALWAYS says what she thinks. She has done a 180.

No, it's just the opposite with me, but depending on the topic of course. If I feel that my opinion might shed some light on a subject I will offer an opinion. If the subject is likely to cause a wide differing of opinions and possibly be argumentative, then I'll pass. But I'm much more open to say what I feel about any given subject than I used to be.

Yeah it happens to me all the time.

The only thing is , is I am a male . And I am only 43.

So maybe it is not hormones but An age thing instead.

Maybe after we reach a certain age, We just subconsciously Don't care what we say anymore. Whether we should or not.

Near there but age does not matter to me. Since young, i have always been speaking my honest opinions. I believe in speaking and doing things without fear or favor. I am a WYSIWYG. No false pretences and no dramas for me ... Whatever I do, someone is watching from above... thats all that matters.

I guess it comes with age. I'm past 50 and I speak my mind...express my opinions even to strangers. I didn't use to when I was younger. I had answers and views but I was too timid to voice them out; I just kept it to myself. But with age, I have become more braver or, shall I say, darer in expressing my opinions. And you're absolutely right, it is harder not to express ourselves...it becomes difficult to just keep silent.

I think it might be getting older, I believe the things I say too, but I don't always say them, sometimes it is just easier not to say them or hurt others because of how you feel, we mellow out... and I think it may be our lack of hormones... I had that done too and sometimes I think I am crazy... no one told me that was going to happen!

LOL
When I hit fifty I actually made myself voice my opinion more, now a few years past that, I realized unless I am asked, nobody wants to hear it. Which is ok, I am ready to not converse as much. More time for pleasent memories
