My parents are pushing me to consider catholic high school next year, but I would dread wearing the uniform they have.
Its an ugly elementary-school style plaid jumper dress no more than two-inches above the knee; a button up blouse, cross tie, white nylon knee socks and regular saddle shoes.
They can't wear pants, tights, or ankle socks.
I think the uniform looks hideously way out of date, and people at my public school i am at now even makes fun of them. I don't want to look like a geek or a sl*t which is what many of us think those girls look like.
Not to mention they appear to always be freezing in winter out at the bus stop, not being able to wear pants.
Should I go to catholic high knowing I am going to hate wearing that uniform, or should I go to public high where they have a relaxed dress code?

I think you might want to double-check that dress code. I've never heard of a Catholic high school that didn't allow girls to wear pants or tights during the winter. What evidence do you have that this is the case? Not even tights you say? That doesn't sound even remotely reasonable.
If you're right, however, dress codes can be altered when there is reasonable cause. There would be no problem with your parents sending a letter to the school board requesting that the dress code be reviewed, and suggesting that tights and pants be allowed for girls during cold weather months at the very least, and that the shoe restriction be altered to allow for footwear that has better arch support (healthier for growing feet).
As for whether or not you should go, consider the level of education you will be receiving. If you are going to get a better education at the Catholic school that will last you your whole life long, then of COURSE you should go to the Catholic school, even if it means you look like a geek for a few years. Your appearances, while important, are far less important than your mind. And you only have to wear the uniform at school, not at home and not on weekends and not at your friend's houses.

based on that uniform, go for public school, why would you want to go to a catholic school anyway? i mean you lose an elective an have to take a religion course, theyre are lots of great electives in high scool, dont lose one because of religion, and public high school tend to get out their more and be more involved in the community, catholic schools always seem more seculded. and a public school will have more diversity, you will meet people from all different types of familys, cultures religions and socail classes. catholic school have much less diversity because everyone has more or less the same lifestyle

Take the private school! I'm a sophmore in an ALL-GIRLS private high school and I thought that I would HATE having uniforms but they grow on you. And don't worry about how dumb you think the uniforms are, you'll be having too much fun to care!!

Hey why not. You have to think about it this way, It will cut your time in half when getting ready for school because you won't be stressing out every morning with what are you going to wear that day. You will learn to be ok with the uniform.

If you want to go to the school, go. Its not like YOU choose the uniforms, so if people make fun of you, so what. And everyone at the school would be wearing the same thing so they couldnt make fun of you..

What matters is the quality of the education, not the uniforms.
