Portugal got China & Japan whilst Spain got the Philippines and most of South America.

The Portugese "Jesuits" had China and Japan whilst the Spanish "Franciscans" had the Philippines and most of South America.

It was the Treaty of Tordesillas and it was between Spain and Portugal. Spain came out ahead.Spain and Portugal would go before Pope Clement and ask him to settle another dispute with Treaty of Saragosa in 1529. Spain came out ahead again.
