Age is only a number. Go out with him at least once and if you still don't like him then just be friends.

Geeze, just go out with him! We're talking about a DATE here, not a lifetime commitment. Dating is supposed to be about spending time with people, learning what you like and what you don't like, so someday you can pick a suitable life companion. Just because you go to a movie with someone, doesn't mean your automatically obligated to be his girlfriend. Besides, a year difference means absolutely nothing, a guy can be 4 years older than you are and still act like an 11 year old.

First of all, make sure you don't date him just for the sake of dating someone. Second, and this is easier said than done, but forget about the age because age is just a number and you're not that much older. Just treat him the same as you would treat a sophmore guy. And if anyone has something rude to say about it, ignore them and don't let them get in the way of your happiness. After all, you said that "he is like perfect" for you. Good luck!

Say yes! Why should it matter, it's a year. Yes, if he was a 6th grader. Then that would be awkward. But a year. Come on, now.

you might lose this oppurtunity with him to another girl (or boy) and you might regret it later.
