Well. Your source is questionable. However, the article only says that more Republicans reported better mental health. I'd say this is most likely because Democrats have the ability to accept their faults and are honest with themselves. Republicans probably can't come to term with their mental health issues and pretend they don't exist. Sort of like they pretend that everyone has health insurance.

The problem with the story you cite is that the they were asking people to rate themselves, If you watch the news you will see that generally, Republicans have some trouble with objectivity (yourself being a prime example). If they had asked an independent third party I bet the results would be reversed

Most mentally ill people are the first people to claim they are mentally fit, just ask any crazy locked up in a mental institution.

Sorry but read the articles in the JAMA(Journals of the American Medical Association) Fox news as usual got it backward. The articles I have read state the opposite. The more conservative a person is the more likely they are suffering from a mental illness or personality disorder.
