It depends. In some categories like sports scholarships, yes, it does matter. For instance, right now, a lot of good, female ice hockey players are getting scholarships because they'res very few of them and they're in demand. Not as many men's hockey players are being scouted/ awarded because their program doesn't need expansion. In some things like computer programmers or cashiers, no. It's no problem of gender. It also depends if the boss of the company/organization is sexist or not, a very slim margin, though.

I always thought that because I wan't male, I could not "amount" to something". I didn't fit into the '50's definition of being "female", so went on and developed into what what was natural for me!! This was in the early '50's. I worked for what is now the National Security Agency; got a teaching creditial from UC Berkeley; an MA and Ed. Specialist there, and lived a wonderful life!! ONE HAS TO GO WITH THE HEART!!!
