I think the whole political correctness nowadays is getting ridiculous. We cant even say black and white cat now in the postman pat song, in case someone takes offence. What else are you going to call a cat that is in fact black and white in colour? It's just stupid. I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but why is it that people from non-white races can say what they like about the whites and get away with it. But yet if a white person says something about a different race, they get into s**t for it?
Some are either just too sensitive nowadays, or they are just after compensation or something. Who knows.

Remember those days where we used to say "its a free country" when people told you what to do? I think those days are over now.
When you are being told what to say, its getting pretty bad. Like Baa Baa Black Sheep. I never thought when I was younger that it was racist, and I still don't. Oh and this whole not being able to call it a blackboard. But whiteboards are completely fine. Yes I know history, but its in the past! Thats where it should be.
We should define things by colour, or think its racist to say something is black whent the object is in actual fact that colour!
Oh, and I heard about a woman wanting to ban dragons from fairytales... because its against health and safety!!!

The drive for 'political correctness' is actually insulting to the people it seeks to 'protect' because it has the underlying assumptions that: (a) these people are somehow too delicate and over-sensitive that they cannot cope with ordinary life (b) they are not smart enough to deal with the insulters themselves and, (c) that they need some white, middle class person to protect them.
If anything, the PC movement is destructive in that it constantly draws attention to differences between people, with no emphasis on their many similarities, and creates tensions between groups because people needlessly feel anxious that they will be causing 'offence'.

People should learn respect and tolerance. Absolutely. But how? Through government-led thought control?
Political correctness has gone out of hand, and in the long run may be counterproductive, creating an undercurrent of lies, bitterness and dissention.

The term "Political Correctness" is the only thing that's out of control. It was a term created by Republican activists as a way of avoiding discussions around the evils they love to perpetuate.
By continuing to use this idiotic term we are buying into their campaign.

When we're all being told what to say to save being misconstrued, yes - it's getting out of hand. I'm in a minority so feel I'm in a position to speak.

If you wish harm to other people...you discriminate against them. If those people are different for a reason associated to race...you discriminate on racial grounds. That makes you a racist.
