To answer your question I would say that is the number of times such that it does not interfere with your life. For example, if masturbating becomes so important that you cancel going out with your friends then there might be a problem. That number will vary from person to person because each person have different lifestyles and obligations. For example a single mom has very little time where as a 16 year old boy in the middle of winter in alaska may have plenty of time for himself.

To be honest I have no idea about a girl but for guys normal is 3-4 times a week. If you are trying to stay abstinent that is cool but if you want to test drive the car before you buy I can't think of a better time just so you can make sure it is a smooth ride and gets good miles per gallon if you know what I mean.

Normal is an elusive term here. How often we masturbate depend on many things. It can be as many as several times a day, 4 or 5 times, or more. What ever you are comfortable with, male or female, is normal.
