I have a TV that is HD. I wanted to buy the PLanet Earth DVD set thats HD, but I only have a regular DVD player. I was planning on buying an HD DVD player in the future, but could I still watch it on the regular DVD player?

And whats Blue Ray?

Hi Nicole,

You can't watch a HD or Blu Ray DVD on a regular DVD recorder.

You can watch a regular DVD on a HD or Blu Ray but it will show in standard definition.

Blu Ray is a competing format for high definition much like the old VHS/Beta formats were in video tape.

HD DVD & Blue Ray DVD are the Two leading "high Def" DVD formats. It is like VHS & Beta war in the 1980s.
