Since the numbers of members from each party are so close it is impossible to get a majority vote on ANYTHING. The republicans are as much to blame as the Dems are.

Truthfully ?
The leadership of the Democrats in Congress is very liberal.
But the Democratic membership in Congress are mainly conservative democrats.
If you look at the democrats who replaced republicans in the 2006 midterm election.
They were not liberal democrats, they were almost all conservative democrats.
So there is a fundamental belief gap between the Democratic leadership in Congress and most of the democratic membership in Congress.

Ummm yeah... they've been in office for less than two years with a SLIM majority (not enough for a VETO override) and they've been unable to repair the damage caused by the previous six years of republicans owning all three branches of government.
Seems like it's just time to CONTINUE the change we started in '06.

It hasn't failed, its a idiot president who doesn't understand the public who has caused the failure. Remember, Republicans were in charge for more than 6yrs of both parts. A full 12 for the house, and they ruined America by allowing evangelical conservatives to destroy America. Or do you just have selective amnesia like most republicans do.

Because politicians aren't interested in leading anymore, they are too busy trying to undermine the other party to help themselves and their party in the next election cycle. And yes, the Democrats are the majority party (233-202 in the House)(50-49 +1 Independent in the Senate).
