Why is it every time the US goes to war , the other sides casualties { be it soldier or civilian } mean very little to the American people ? This war on terror is the same - the US grieves for its soldiers but not the " other " sides dead . I believe if people actually understood life and death they would be grieving for both sides and not just perceiving them as the " enemy " - there people too { and I am mainly talking about innocent people } who deserve a chance at life no more and no less then you do .
Anyone agree ?

Never said the US was bad , I just don't understand why the American people don't care about innocent life whenever the US puts an enemy label on them .

It saddens my heart that any have to die or be maimed in this or any other war, their sons or ours. I only hope that in years to come that we and those that we call the enemy will remember this war.

The reason that you will never hear of the horrors that the other side is feeling is because it would be un-American to do so.
You are right in a way that both sides are loosing some of the best and brightest people on the planet, and they can never really be replaced.
If the WORLD would sit down and count up the number of people that have died from 1900 to 1999 it should be enough to make them stop. I tried to count up the numbers and quit counting at around 160,000,000. This included the soliders of all sides and the estimated number of civilian casualties. Of course the estimated number is probably low because accurate records have never been kept on undeveloped countries or were burned in fires during the war, so my numbers should be probably closer to 200 million people but I have no way to back up those costs.
Of course these are the numbers of people that died on the battlefield, in air raids, because of torture and generaly in the thick of the fighting areas, it doesn't count the men and women who were evacuated from the area of fighting and died 6 months or whenever of their wounds or those that commited suicide because of the horendous nightmares that we suffer every night.
If somebody were to check, and I think it would be an impossible task, of all of the men and women from every country that committed suicide or died because of wounds after leaving the field of fighting and included a picture of the person that died and put it on a website for all too see, it wouldn't stop the fighting.
People are stupid and don't remember or care as long as they don't have to go.

Talk to a real soldier who has served his country in Iraq. Most of the "Innocent" deaths were not so innocent. remember our soldiers are not fighting a uniformed military. The enemy is wearing civilian clothing. The liberal controlled media will only show you the "innocent" Iraqis deaths. What about the American soldiers that gave their lives for their country? Don't believe the media. If you want a real answer talk to a real soldier who has really seen first hand what is happening.

You must understand war. the more we dehumanize them the more we will be able to conduct a successful war. It also helps our troops when they come home, how would they feel if Americans were crying for their enemy? I do agree with you Life is very valuable and I do not like the idea of what war does on either side but as an American it's our job to worry about our troops. Also the bloodshed will stop as soon as our enemy surrenders for we shall not.

No, I don't grieve for the enemy. They are on the wrong side and are fighting for what I feel is evil, at least in this case. Especially when they deliberately target innocent civilians for bombings. Those people need to be exterminated.
I do feel bad for innocent civilians getting killed. I feel bad for their livelihoods and communities going through turmoil. US forces should be doing their best to minimize this, which at least from what I hear, they are.

The Iraqi people aren't even our enemy. We are there fighting in their civil war and have drawn Al Qaeda into the mix. It seems they have killed more of their own than we have. I don't think anyone really knows how many innocent people have died. There aren't really any words to describe their losses but only the Iraqis can stop it at this point. They have to decide they won't tolerate Al Qaeda and settle their political differences before they'll have any peace.

The White House would not be spending billions of dollare in another country unless some people were gonna get something out of it. The Americans could care less about those dying innocent people, when they don't even care about our own comin' home handicapped .

It was 10 million from Saudi declined by Rudy. Greece wanted to send cruise ships to house the homeless and Spain wanted to send emergency medical professionals. Canada also wanted to send medical and additional security. Maldovi - the poorest of all European countries- wanted to send 5000.00 also rejected. Assistance for Poland was also declined. It wasn't our enemies but our closest allies.

Yes, you've got it and I think about it everyday.
Iraqis lives are just as important to me as my neighbors' here and to think otherwise is immature, cold and unrealistic.
Thank you for pointing it out.
Al-Qaeda? Honestly, I'm not sure they are human and can not muster much sympathy for their lost lives because I know they would take my own in a heartbeat and rally around my bloody remains.

So you are thinking that the enemy puts us up on a pedestal and we are the bad guy here? Were those that were captured and beheaded by the enemy up on that pedestal?
