I would not be surprised if Hitler and Stalin, if they were to come back today, will be treated as "celebrities". Invited to tv talk shows, having stories written of them in supermarket tabloids, having people taking photos with them in malls, especially with young and pretty ladies. Telling jokes to the people on sidewalks. Being "hated" makes them quite "popular" with many people. What do you say?

Sure, but they'd be treated with the same respect that Britney Spears and Michael Jackson have right now

Hitler, certainly, and possibly Stalin also ( at least in the U.S.) would be treated as criminal celebrities and this would preclude some of the activities you cite. Celebrity actitivities behind bars would be likely such as writing books, or having books/ plays/movies written about them would probably occur.

Who knows? In the current Russia of Putin, Stalin might not even be considered a criminal.

Sadam Hussain is not a celebrity.

There is a difference of a celeb and a terrorist.

Hilter and Stalin did horrible things, KILLED innocent people.
