Remote control model airplanes and helicopters. I've been into it for 25 years and one whole bedroom in my house is dedicated to it. It's one of those things that's hard to explain why I like it so much. I've always been fascinated by airplanes and making a model fly and taking it home in one piece at the end of the day is still a thrill. I also like that for those few minutes at a time when you have a plane in the air, you aren't thinking of anything else. It's a short, but total release from life's responsibilities. There's always a challenge, not only in making an aircraft work, but learning and perfecting new tricks. An evening in the hobby room satisfies my need to craft things.

I like to paint wooden objects. I love the wood section at Hobby Lobby. I have foudn the exact mixture of paints to make things look antique and then I add a nice gloss to them.
I also like to make clocks. I make football ones for people's favorite teams. You take 2 pieces of Plexiglass, cut a whole in the middle, buy a black picture frame (11x 14) and put it together. On the cardboard backing of the frame I paint the lines and the green field color.
I also do about a million other craft things. And I play sports, read, write poetry, and bake desserts.

There is no such thing as a hobby that does not involve money on some level. Even puzzles are very time consuming but you have to buy them. You can try builing bird houses or model cars or model airplanes but that all involves money on some basis as you have to buy the material. Unless someone gives it to you. In a few months try building a snow fort. That would be completly money free.

Model Railroading... I've been doing it since 1975 (with a break tween 1985-1999 when I was in the Navy), and in the middle of my 3rd layout. I also design and build them for others.
My other "hobby" is going to my brother's ranch and providing free-labor and taking care of the critters

I'm an artist but I've been collecting coins for many years. I started very young collecting pennines. I got a book that had a space for every date and mint. I have since expanded into almost any American coin including any kind of token but especially good luck tokens. My wife collects American postage stamps but especially stamps that have women or women's issues. They are both great hobbies!

I collect pocket knives, I started when I was young with my Dad and his collection. Most of our knives have been in the family for years. I will pass them along to my boys when I am finished.

I love to read. And do anything crafty...whether it's scrapbooking or making wreaths/centerpieces or doing cross-stitch.
I also collect anything that has labrador retrievers on it.
