Thats a really interesting question! In my mind, strength applies more to tangible things like durability, physical strength, or sometimes to the intensity of ones ideals or convictions. Power is more abstract, and would apply more to social or political structures, perceptions, sometimes the ability to utilize something that is considered a strength. To give a pretty base and predictable example, an elderly crime boss has the power to utilize the strength of his cronies. Which is more abused? I think its a question of macro and micro, Power is used more on the macro level, strength in the micro.

Power is the existance of a force capable of illiciting a change. Strength is that force. Neither one is abused. The abscence of either in a given scenario is exploited. Those whom are being exploited simply possess a different somewhat inverse strength to withstand said abuse. Hence the adage " that which does not kill you will make you stronger".
