She's probably acting out because she wants her real father, instead of you (no offense. I know this because my friend is the exact same way). Either punish her and get worse treatment from her, or don't punish her, and let her keep giving you crap. My idea is to go to her and see whats up and why she's acting like that, and try to fix it. Whether its going out for ice cream, or planning a day for the two of you.

Sit down and talk to the teen and her mother and see if you can stop the disrespect.

Your step daughter probably already hates your guts. I wouldn't do anything to make her hate you more. Don't go trying to be big bad dad and start punishing her constantly. It will only make her want to dis respect you more. let her mom handle it

my sister is the same way with our step dad! He just doesn't get into it with her! If I were him I would punish her! I mean he's the one paying for all the bills,food everything mom doesn't work! So she needs to learn respect! I don't know if your question had anything to do with what I just explained but I hope it helped
