you have a great point. I think some VERY BORED people will continue to just set up new accounts.
The suspensions probably do help down the spamers and constant abusers a bit though. It might get old for some people to have to set up a whole new account everyday. And if there is continued abuse from various users but all from the same IP address, Y!A will block the IP address so that they can not set up any further accounts.

It only makes people upset after working hard to get points, that is, if they have a lot of points. I think I'm on the verge of a suspension and I just got to level 5.
It's a picture of Billy Joe Armstrong, Green Day's front man. To the person who asked.

Yes if you are a long time user that has acquired a lot of pts... hence spent a great deal of time here.
No if you just come every once in awhile.
Suspensions used to be a big deal when you lost your email also. I know that would have blown me away with this being my business email. Thank God Yahoo separates the two now.

True, but it is a pain in the neck to open up a new account each time. The suspension acts like a slap on the wrist.

There is adversity in having to start over at level 1, so in a way, it's a deterrent against violating the community guidelines. I suppose, however, if you're used to getting suspensions, then there is no point.

I think they would make a note of the IP address... maybe?
If you came back using "another account" they'd know it was you and know that you had just blown all your points and contacts etc.
i'm sure if you continued to be an *** on several accounts that they'd just ban your IP.
Yes, you can change your IP but it would be a pain in the ***.

Most of the suspensions I have seen have been unfair ones. Yahoo needs to look at the reporters of these so called breaches of guidelines.

maybe yahoo think that the hassle of having to create another account will put ppl off doing things that will get them suspended
doubt it though. i mean, it takes 30 seconds to create a new account, right?
if they really wanted to they could ban IPs. but maybe theres more money in it for them if their advertisers know that more ppl are on here, so yahoo dont ban IPs !

I don't think there's much of a point, but the part that really sucks is that you have to start over with your points that you work really hard to get. That's the main downside. Hope this helps!

I kinda wish they would just suspend me...instead of giving me all these violations & killing me off slowly...but the suspensions are stupid. But if a user gets suspended enough & keeps comin back eventually they get sick of it & never come back :(
Example: Sandstorm222
