I am 38 weeks pregnant and dilated to 4 cm. My membranes were stripped on Tuesday. Last night and today i have been feeling very anxious. As a good example... i feel like I'm on speed. I get really shaky and feel like i can't sit still even though i want to. I also have been getting the chills. These both come and go. They are not constant but they keep coming back. I have had no pain as in contractions just the normal very bad pelvis pain, the popping in my pelvis/groin, pain when i pee, and can't move sometimes type of stuff. I also have been losing a lot of mucous for quite some time but anyways that said.... could labor be under way with what has happened recently. (Anxious, shaky, chilled, etc.)

I think everyone is different. No one knows for sure. Of course it's coming soon- you are 38 weeks. Just hang in there, it is uncomfortable & not fun in the last weeks. I would talk w/ your dr to make yourself feel better.

Calm down you ARE not in labour, my daughter has just been through this, Your baby will come when he/she wants to actually I am getting alarm at this so called stripping the nurses are getting you all exciting about the birth, when in fact my daughter was 13 days late after having 2.

The stuff you say are losing is now called the plug, which means birth will be soon BUT you could still go another 1- 3 weeks so PLEASE PLEASE relax and dont hurry baby he/she will be along soon, believe me lay back and store that energy because you will need it afterwards

Wishing you well

I can't believe your water hasn't broke you dilate one more cm and you'll definitely be in labor after you get to a 5 its all quick after that. So its very possible you will be in labor very very soon. I got that feeling like on speed like a week before I had my daughter.

Yes! Anxiety and chills/shaking are very common in labor and are caused by the surge in hormones. You might be feeling contractions very soon.

Try to rest and relax if you can - maybe a warm shower or a massage?
