Use the 1st equation to solve for x
so -2x + 3 = 7, so -2x = 4, so x = -2
then plug this into the 2nd equation:
3(-2) + 1 = 5 + y
-6 + 1 - 5 = y
y = -10

-2X + 3 = 7 3(-2) + 1 = 5 + Y X = -2
- 3 = 7-3 -6 + 1 - 5 = Y Y = -10
-2X = 4 - 10 = Y
----- -----
-2 -2 Check: -6 + 1 = 5 + (-10)
X = -2 -6 +(-5) + 1 = -10
Subtract 5 from both sides.

-2x = 4 so 2x = -4 so x = -2,
substitute:
(3*-2) + 1 = 5 + y,
(3*-2) +1 -5 = y,
y= -10 ans (C).

-2x = 4
x = -2

3(-2) - 4 = y
-6 - 4 = y
