If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -
1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin
2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker
These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.
Fiction?
Try all the books written by Clive Cussler (mystery/adventure/drama type). I would suggest you start the books from the first; some of the story lines tend to follow into subsequent novels.
The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These fiction books by Clive Cussler are well-written.

Ah Christopher Moore is calling to you!! Humor Horror and Smut are his middle names! Try Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck, his vampire books or A Dirty Job - which is also hilarious. Or for the Christmas season try Lamb - The Gospel According to Christ's Best Friend Biff. You will laugh out loud. Christopher Moore is a wild man, but he is a genius.

They're, Their, There - Three Different Words.
Careful or you may wind up in my next novel.

Try any Christopher Moore book. He has a comedic, adult style but with the occasional hint of drama. His best are:
Fluke, or I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings
Lamb: the Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal
Bloodsucking Fiends.

Anything by Nora Roberts or J.D. Robb is good. I like the In Death series by J.D. Robb. If you go there it is best to start at the beginning so you can watch the characters grow.
