I can't stand you orange box silly gooses...Or is that silly geese?I'm sure an orange box will tell me. They are so smart.

I thought being a 'top contributor' was somehow determined by the frequency of your contributions.

I am a 'top contributor' the category of government/politics, probably because it's something I've been interested in all of my life.

I guess I, too, am guilty of being verbose...and yet I believe if someone asks an intelligent question, it should be answered with a certain amount of intelligence, candor and depth. Shallow, inane questions, on the other hand, deserve equally shallow, inane answers.

As a public forum, I believe YaHoo! Answers to be an ideal place to conduct intelligent discourse, present varying viewpoints, and debate important issues. I know that many questions are juvenile, childish and playful. But I prefer to answer those legitimate questions which require legitimate responses.

I apologize for being such a jacka**. I'm 64 years old, a high school graduate, and certainly don't consider myself smarter than most other people. But I generally make the effort to respond to a good question with a good answer. I'm sorry if you lack the attention span to read my answers, but I assume most people who ask pertinent questions are anxious to learn - or at least hear others' perspectives. -RKO- 12/02/07

in fairness, they must be top contributors for a reason, and that reason is usually that they have the most best answers. The really long winded answers from them do annoy me a little as they take ages to read and make me feel guilty if I don't pick them (after they put so much effort in), but at the end of it all, they do answer your question as well or badly as the next person!

(i hope this answer wasn't too long and winded, but then, I'm not a top contributor so I guess it doesn't matter)

edit: lol, what were the odds?! now that I'm a tc I'll bear the long ansers thing in mind. though they guy below makes a great point.

Calm down, just because they have a orange box, doesn't make them any better at answering questions then the next person.
