Does that mean that rap musicians will be allowed to play there? Or no black comedians would be allowed to perform there? Because almost ever other word they use is the "N" word. Or is that law just directed towards white people?

What is your input?

The US city of Los Angeles has voted to ban the racist word "******" with city councillors saying they hope the symbolic gesture will stop people from using the epithet in any context.

The Los Angeles City Council discussed a ban on use of the word for roughly 30 minutes before passing the resolution.
According to the resolution, the word, "connotes a lazy person with no self-respect or regard for family, a person who is ignorant, stupid, slow moving, does not speak proper English and has child-like qualities."

America's much-cherished constitutional right to free speech means anyone using the insult within Los Angeles is not committing a crime though. An identical measure has already been passed in New York.

I think it should be along with, "dyke," "f@g," "w0p," "deg0," "sp1c," etc.

Those are awful, hurtful words that should never be used.

The bigger question is, How can you ban a WORD? That makes no sense. Will they be handing out tickets/fines?
I think that's made up.
And who cares? It's a stupid, over used, insulting and ignorant word to begin with.

They can't effectively ban a word. To be honest, if some city said they were going to try to ban a word I would go out of my way to say it as often as possible to show them how ridiculous they were being (whether I approved of that word or not).

It's about damn time.

My opinion about the "N" word:

It should NEVER BE USED BY ANYONE!!!
Any Black person that still uses the word are ignorant because they are disrespecting their own race and they don't even realize it.
