You are too sweet, and I thank all the families that are in the same boat as the kids and I. May you be blessed with a wonderful holiday season, with way too much food and laughter, and be deprived of tears and pain! Big Hugs your way!

I know this first hand. My Dad served in Vietnam. My Brother served in the Marines doing two tours in Iraq during the Holiday season and I served in the Air Force and my youngest Brother is in Boot camp right now in the Navy. I want to remind everyone to keep these brave Men and Woman in your thoughts and prays this Holiday season and all the time. It is very hard on both the person serving and the family they leave behind here at home. I pray for all our Brave Troops to come home soon. Thank you so much for posting this questions

it just kills me when i think of everybody in the US who is missing a family member , right now. it's too many.
and some just aren't coming back. <3
may i also say that i believe we should wait until our young americans are at least 21 yo, before sending them off to get their asses shot off?
either that or lower the drinking age. cus i know if i'm getting shitte aimed at me all day, I could really use a good belt a' something before bedtime .
maybe, they aught to send the older married men. they're all mostly dying to escape their wives anyway. it would be like vacation for them.

I think it goes without saying that when you give props and respect to the troops, their families are included. It is true, many forget the scarifies their families make to not only be without their family member serving in the armed forces, but that they give up a tremendous amount by simply not having that one family member there with them. Mums are struggling to raise families and keep it together all on their own, and vice verse, mothers missing their children, being taken advantage of by guises of promises of care and medical treatment for those who sacrificed bravely, and come back to inadequate health care. I pray for them and their families, We are all involved in this war whether we acknowledge it or not. Let us all pray for peace and joy to the world, and that the battles would be fought with minds instead of human scarifies.

I'll say this...its REALLY sad that only 10 people have answered this. Oh well, what ya gonna do......I agree.....those that stay behind are just as much owed thanks as the ones over there actually risking their lives. It must take a lot to go thru these holidays with your family member in a far away land risking death 24-7 so that we can all be free. Thank all of you for that....God Bless America, and God protect our troops.

I'll say thank you to all our troops because if it wasnt for them, we wouldnt be living as we are right now. I hope they all come home safe and can have some kind of a good Christmas. To all our troops families, i wish you and your loved ones the best of luck and hope your troop will come home soon. God Bless

I slightly disagree with this Q. As someone with a son in the service how can we know what it feels like when your jeep is overturned by a bomb? When you see your best friend die?
Whether you know if this is your last day on earth.
I support my son to the maximum as I know many wives do but I don't think our job is just as important as theirs unless you count the moral support we give them.

Great Idea! We should continue to thank them all year round, not just at Christmas time. The sacrifices the soldiers and their families make are immense, and need to be continuously recognized.

As a family member of one serving, I might add that as Sweet T mentioned please put together care packages and send if you can, doesn't have to be much. Trust me they appreciate anything this time of year and any time of year. Something from home always helps and makes things a bit brighter for them. Thank you for remembering families as well.
