I just bought 3 paintings by this unknown artist.Anyways I paid 50 dollars for the 3.They are hand painted. All of them had a person killing himself with: A hammer-A gun-A scissor....
How much will you pay for these.I love these paintings. They have so much emotion.I never seen paintings like this before.
How much will you pay for these? Were these too cheap?Should I contact this artist?
He says that those 3 have different meanings. He explained them to me and it was deep.He said that the gun represents drugs.Everybody thinks the drugs killed they guy although his family slowly killed him......

I enjoy drawing and coloring, painting using different medias.
If you bought 3 paintings by an unknown artist for $50 dollars, It depends how big the canvases are and how much work he put into them.
Off the top of my head, if the canvas is 8x10 or 11 x 14 I would say you did not get taken. I think he charged you a fare price.
Why do you have second thoughts about something you purchased were satisfied with when you bought them and love so much?
Please just enjoy them.
The artist should have attached his explanation of his work on the back of each painting. Some day he might be famous and WA-LA you will be rich.
There is no need to see his paintings, Why? because you purchased them and you liked them and that is what counts.
Feel good, and Smile.

nicely maximum residences you progression into are painted merely before you moving in. besides the carpets are wiped sparkling and adjusted if mandatory. that's what the risk-free practices deposit is for. If the previous tenant did no longer guard the residence then they deduct some money from the risk-free practices deposit to conceal the fee of re-carpeting and repainting. If he expects you to paint it then you certainly could ask him what you're moving into return i.e, lease help. Take pictures of the residence first earlier you do something and checklist it with perhaps a signed witness which includes your neighbor using fact in case you place down a secure practices deposit and you have already signed the contract and don't settle directly to paint it for him for unfastened then he could attempt and save your deposit asserting which you probably did the wear to the partitions. So info is your maximum suitable guess as against this guy who feels like a lazy landlord.

It shouldn't be how much would someone else pay for the painting, its how much do you feel comfortable paying. You said you love these paintings which is probably why you feel you underpaid. If you think they are worth more then contact the artist and offer a gratutiy for a job well done, I'm sure they would accept.

I'd say that's a good deal depending on how much time the artist put into the paintings. You gotta think that hes getting like 17 bucks per painting, and if they are good, he probably put 12 or more hours into each one. I would say thats a good deal for you and not him.

Art is so different to each person. The artist sounds like he poured his heart and soul into his work and with him telling you these deep meanings it makes the paintings more interesting. But...how many people that see these paintings will know the reason behind the art? I think without an in depth explanation people will see only disturbing images of death and violence. That in itself will appeal to some, but not many (think Marilyn Manson). I personally don't like that kind of art and you couldn't pay me $50.00 to hang it in my house. Again, that is just one persons perception of art.

quite frankly, i dont find the subject matter appealing. say what you will, i have pictures of flowers, the Caribbean, and ethnic portraits of people from other cultures all over my house. NONE of these pictures has any violence what so ever in them.
that being said, the value of the paintings relates to what you feel they are worth. perhaps they where so attractively priced because the artist finds so little audience for his work? at any rate, we are here in America and you are free to have such work if you want AND pay what you will.

If you love them why are you trying to sell them?
If they speak to you then they are worth the world to you where as I don't think I would even give them a second look because to me I find at least your description disturbing.
Hold on to them! Enjoy them.
And basically, I wouldn't pay anything for them...
