At the present I believe that the average is well over 50cents with some much higher.

between income tax, and all the other taxes you pay, about 85 cents. and thats not enough for them.

In the US federal state and local governments tax receipts are about 30% of GDP and have been since WWII. In some European countries the amount is near 50% but education and health care cost are included.

Over 50 cents.
Federal tax, Property Tax, School Tax, Sales Tax, Gasoline Tax, Utility taxes, fees, etc.

Then there are the hidden taxes that are passed on to the consumers, such as corporate income taxes, and payroll taxes.

Well between fed. income tax ,state tax, SS tax embedded tax, sales tax etc etc, I shudder to think.
Which is why I believe in the Fair Tax.

Look at Tobacco and Gasoline(fuel tax) and youll see its a lot more.Itll make you cringe.
