Turn on the generator and live life like I normally do. Maybe make some popcorn and watch a dvd.

We had such an eperience in the North East a few years ago.
No power. No phones (not even cellular) for a 2 to 3 day period
Stores couldnt function because they rely on electricity for their registers/inventory controls. Gas stations couldnt pump gas. It was a mess.
You have no choice but to set back and ride it out. One local store calculated everything on paper and made a fortune because no one else had the smarts to go back to the way things were at one time.

Fire up the generator! We live in the country and have a wood burner for heat. I love candles so we have stockpiles of them around.
