Neocon L, if she was, then why are they rushing to push their issues with the republicans now, before the elections? Could it be because they're afraid that Hillary won't buy it?

Heavens, no! It's the logical consequence of having a democratically elected government, which is known to be the worst form of government, EXCEPT for all the others. Lobbyists will do this, and if you expect a government to operate successfully in the real world, you had better expect it.

I am confining my comment here to the behavior of the lobbyists, that being the story. Now, if we look at the other side, the possibility that people serving in this or any other administration might be selling us out before they leave, that does concern me. But as the present gang have been selling us out since the moment they came in the door, I don't expect much to change now.

Remember the Department of Interior worker who was canned for mapping the breeding grounds of the caribou, because it was an inconvenient fact for those pushing more oil drilling. This is nothing new.

They need to stop this lobbying. That is what has kept the price of prescription drugs so high. They passed a law that the patent on brand name drugs was good for 20 or30 years. So no generic could be made of those drugs until the patent was up. The drug companies lobbied for this and got it and got rich. It is just a small example of how the lobbyist affect us in everyday life. I am sure Bush will give us a final screwing before he leaves office. He has sure made a mess of this country-him and all his good old boys we elected to office.

All of it should make any patriotic American sick figuratively . . . and some of it will no doubt make many of us sick . . . or injured . . . literally down the road.
The great Republican President General Dwight Eisenhower warned us 50 years ago about the power of the military-industrial complex and unfortunately his words are ringing more true every day.

Of course it makes me sick, but is there another alternative out there? This kind of thing is not new but the intensity of it has increased to the point that if the American public remains apathetic they get what the deserve!
