I look at anyone with disgust if they attempt to cut me off or just drive dangerously. I drive an SUV because it suits my needs. It's also a safer vehicle than the smaller ones that are nothing more than a coffin on wheels.

I'm disgusted with the huge fuel use and the pollution those SUVs etc. cause.

I'm also disgusted by some of these answers. No wonder the US is in debt when people seem to think they're entitled to harm others. "If I've got the money, I can do what I want." This is what's wrong with Americans. They think they're entitled to take and take from the rest of the world. They think it's OK for the privileged US to pollute the atmosphere.

The arrogant answers here show why Americans are looked down on as jerks and idiots by the rest of the world.

The world is sneering at the gross Americans and their short-sighted stupidity.

Personally, I think you greedy gas guzzlers deserve what you're getting. (Have you recently checked the value of the once almighty dollar? Your greedy ways have you in debt to China, of all countries. Ha, ha, ha. ) Keep on driving SUVs, and keep right on ruining your trade balance. Europe is ready to take over the world markets.

NY is referred to as "The Big Apple" due to the fact that lengthy in the past a popular people hero (Johnny Appleseed) planted a unmarried seed within the core of the town. Then, in a unusual warp in area-time, a boy named Jack planted a seed he believed to be magical within the equal spot. In what continues to be viewed a marveling organic development, the 2 seeds fused in combination on a molecular stage. After an outstanding rain, the seed hybrid grew into an apple 300ft tall and approximatively 330ft vast. The strangest factor being the absence of a tree. It turns out the apple used to be entirely usual, besides it grew directly from the bottom with its possess roots like a beanstalk of a few kind. For a long time to return, men and women could consult with the town and seem up on the inconceivable fruit and believe "that's a giant apple". After a even as men and women started relating to the town itself as "The Big Apple". But then, 1943 Oct eleventh, anything unusual occurred. As the town laid to relaxation, the night time as soon as once more upon them, there used to be a stunning flash of pink mild. The flash lasted for just about four-five seconds. No one is unique what precipitated the flash, however as soon as it used to be over the apple had without difficulty disappeared. Not simplest had it vanished, the bottom it had grown from had closed as though it had been under no circumstances there. Some say the apple had grown so colossal it created a few kind of fruity supernova and collapsed in on itself in a black gap. Some say the extraterrestrial beings dependable for the loss of life of the dinosaurs got here again and destroyed the apple as good. We might under no circumstances realize precisely what occurred that night time, however something is for certain. That used to be a giant-*** apple.

No I dont. If they can afford to drive them it is their business and none of mine. It is not the SUVs that drive up the gas prices. And saying that they are not good drivers is a generalization. I have driven an SUV for business reasons and have never been in an accident. I am reasonably certain that just as many drivers of small cars cause accidents also.

A valid driver's license gives you the right to drive on the road. If you're bad enough, you can certainly have it revoked, and lose that privilege. Which it is... contrary to man folks behaviors, it's not your right.

Yes, there are lots of people driving huge vehicles (SUVs, Vans, Trucks, Tractor Trailers, etc) who don't look carefully for small cars. As a small car driver you KNOW this, and so it's really up to you to watch out for the big guys. Some are careless, and some simply can't see small cars. It's not a perfect world, and yes, it is a shame that someone has to get hurt before some of these idiots get taken off the road.

I drive a small car... a 2003 Prius, and I drive to Philadelphia in traffic a few times a week, so I've seen it all. But basically, you know there are fools on the road -- you know this before ever stepping into a car, because you know there are fools everywhere in life. And many have done far stupider things, in politics, with their health, in their personal lives, than just cut you or me off with a Hummer. So while I sympathize with you, we both know it's never going to change.

As a driver, I believe it's up to me to keep myself and my passengers safe... not the other guy. In fact, I generally assume everyone on the road is a fool, and WILL do the stupid thing... and I make sure, when they do that, I'm not their target. This is part of what they call "defensive driving", and it's good practice, particularly if you're in a small car.

As for driving up the cost of gasoline, gas here is too cheap anyway.. it's held artificially low, even at $3.00 per gallon. And as long as it's low, you're going to have soccer moms in Expeditions and balding fat guys compensating with Hummers. Sure, I feel a little contempt for huge offroad vehicles outfitted for on-road only use (hint: you can't use aluminum wheels offroad) driven as commuting vehicles by one person. I wish they had more sense, but I still defend their right to do it.

Look at Europe.. you can pay $6.00 - $10.00 per gallon in most of those countries. I spent lots of time in Germany... you don't see too many SUVs there. And they drive much, much better, on perfect highways. However, it's hard to get a driver's license in Germany, and little things, like passing on the right, have you suspended or losing it entirely. We could have a bit of that here, too, rather than just handing them as prizes in Cracker-Jack (or close to it).

It's not that small cars are less safe, it's that Suv's are dangerous to small vehicles. If we got rid of the SUV's and their self righteous drivers, we'd get rid of the terrible damage SUV's cause in even minor accidents.

Where does it end? Your big vehicle makes mine vulnerable, so I'll buy an even bigger gas guzzler, and so on.

Wise up folks. We need to pull together as a nation to solve our energy crisis; the "I've got mine, so the bleep to you" attitude must stop.

I agree with "Calalumn." It is unpatriotic to continue to put our country in so much debt to oil countries.

Yes, they think because they're in those big SUVs that they're completely safe and can drive like maniacs. Well what about those of us who have little cars? My car was cheap, saves gas money, and puts less pollutants into the environment.

They are disgusting people who have no thought for America. I hate how they up gas prices for everyone. Remember, prices are based on supply and demand. We are demanding too much gas.

I actually laugh at the little s***boxes I see scattered along the road every time it snows. Glad to see how much gas they are saving, seeing as how their little matchboxes can't move at all. Their drivers always seem glad to see me the rare times I stop to push them out, though. I guess "green" can't stand up to a big old pile of white snow, now can it?

SUV's are only safer for the occupants...not those sharing the road with them.

And yes. their emissions are putting us all in danger.

If I can walk there I do. If I can bike there I do. If I can car pool I do. If I can bus there I do....and I own an economy size vehicle which I rarely use.

It is my inherent right to buy $500.00 worth of groceries and throw it in the garbage...does that mean I should or am just in doing so?
