a mucus plug and bloody show? I lost my mucus plug two weeks ago (confirmed by a doctor), but a few times today when I wiped it was pink mucus with darker streaks of blood. Is that a bloody show or is the mucus plug and bloody show the same thing? I am 39 weeks and have a dr appt tomorrow morning.

The mucus plug is the small amount of thickened mucus that's sealed your cervical canal during the last nine months. The plug may come out all at once in a lump, or as increased vaginal discharge over the course of several days.

The mucus may be tinged with blood (which may be brown, pink, or red), which is why it's referred to as "bloody show."

As you dilate slowly before labor, you may have more discharge and some more mucus, even after losing the plug initially.

You could still be losing your mucus plug little by little. It can also mean your in labor so hopefully you will make it tomorrow to your dr unless you start contracting tonight!!!

GOOD LUCK

A lot of ppl say that they're the same thing, but my mucous plug has always been clear and started going about a week before labor. The show has always started just before I went into hard labor. I would say call your doctor's answering service, if you can't get ahold of him. This is doctor-worthy/
