a renewable resource is anything that can be replaced in a reasonable amount of time. Some trees like pines and firs can mature in as little as ten years. We use them a lot in construction and paper manufacturing. some trees like maples and oaks take up to fifty years to mature, but they are harder, smoother and better to build with. While they are still considered renewable, they are less so and therefor not as good a renewable resource.

wood is a renewable resource because it wont run out unless we run our of trees and we can always grow new trees

There are farms growing nothing but trees. Tree farms, that is renewable.
