Lot's of people own them, they are just too embarrassed to tell people how bad they were ripped-off.

I don't think there is a better example of modern snake-oil on the market.

I have a brother and sister in law who own two of them. They seem to think they're doing a good job of heating, and probably saving them money, as they were heating with a corn burning stove. The price of a bushel of corn went so high this fall that they figure that they can heat with these electric units for less than what they can buy the corn for. They've only been using them for a little over a month or so now, so it's difficult to make an accurate assessment of how it's going to play out.
They only heat the room that they're setting in, not the whole house, so if that's what you're looking for, these won't work for you. These are space heaters.
