It's all fine and good that he wants to name the baby after himself...and Aaron is a really nice name...but don't have the baby's first name be Aaron and call him something else...if you want to refer to him as Luke (just an example name I'm using) don't name him Aaron Luke and then forever from birth be calling him Luke.
I don't think it would be confusing having three Aaron's...it's not a huge issue that should warrant calling your child something else.

I wouldn't do it! It gets very confusing with juniors and thirds. They can have their credit reports mixed up, and accidental identity thefts.
Why not use Aaron as a middle name, and a different name for the first name?
Paul Aaron
Peter Aaron
Fionn Aaron
Oliver Aaron
Gage Aaron
William Aaron
Or you could use the same initials:
Andrew Peter
Asher Paul
Avram Phaedrus
Abraham Peter
Or you could use Aaron as a first name, and use a middle name that you'll call him:
Aaron Joseph
Aaron Gavin
Aaron Michael
Aaron Micah
Aaron Noah
Aaron Corbin
Aaron Ryan

Well, it's really up to you. I think Aaron Peter III is a great name, that shows breeding and heritage. If I do have a son one day (which I sincerely hope), he will also be named after his daddy - Craig Anthony.
But, if you dont like that particular name constellation, why not try giving him a different first name? In most English speaking cultures, it is only customary for the child to either carry his/her father's/mother's middle name.
But then again, you dont need to name him after his lineage at all! Be original - and give him a different modern name, that you both like and can agree upon.
P.S. I also named my daughter Heidi after her grand-aunt.

Since you're the one who has to suffen the pain, you should name him whatever you want. If you don't want the kid to be named Aaron, it should be your choice. If your boyfriend wants the baby's name to be Aaron so bad, then perhaps his middle name could be Aaron, but if you don't want that to be his name, choose what you personally want.
