The only university in San Antonio with an intercollegiate football program currently is Trinity University which is a Division III school. Most Division III football stadiums hold about 3000 - 6000 spectators. There would not be enough ticket sales to justify the use of the Alamodome.
The University of Texas at San Antonio is considering starting a football program. This school is in what used to be known as Division I-AA and given development of the program might be able to justify the cost of the dome.
Normally, the Alamodome is used for NFL exibition games, the Big 12 Conference Championship Football Game, The Alamo Bowl College post season football game, And is on occasion used for the NCAA Final Four basketball Tournament (men's and womens). Otherwise it is used for conventions and special events. It was the home court for the San Antonio Spurs of the NBA until they moved to the facility now called the AT&T Center.
Also, the Dallas Cowboys use the Alamodome for their summer training camp.

Oklahoma fan. The Red River Shootout with Texas is probably the biggest game in all college sports. I think the waiting list for tickets is up to 175 years! This year we get a special treat in week two when the thugs from Miami come calling. Oklahomans are being warned to stay indoors until those criminals are safely out of the state.
