We had a huge fight last year about whether you put a star or an angel on top of the tree. I vote angel, but my granny wanted a star. And i was disappointed when she got her way. But I shall be having an angel on my tree this year.....

a really nice star is good, just cuz, for some reason almost every angel i've seen for trees looks kinda cheaply made and too simple if it's a really pretty kinda doll faced angel with nice detail on the dress i would go for angel, but there are some really nice stars too
we have a star cuz it has a lot of lights,colors and sparkley stuff so it matches the tree(glam rock tree kinda)

My family always puts the same angel on our tree. She was given to my grandma by her mom and my grandma gave it to my mom. It's pretty much a tradition.
The rule about Angel or Star, I think, has to do with religion. If you follow a religion that believes in Angels and Heaven, then go with the Angel. Basically, the star is for those who celebrate Christmas for non-religious purposes.

I have always had a star on top, as a matter of fact, I still have the star that was always on top of my mother's tree, it is probably 60 years old, and I've repaired it several times, but it still is beautiful. Makes it extra special when I see it up there, as I have not seen my mother for 30 years now.

Yep, it IS an age old war. My mother (before she got Alzheimer's) ALWAYS put up this angel that I had as a child. I vote for big sparkly star! Hey, it's your Christmas tree! Put up your angel with pride!

Angel.I like them because we always had them growing up.Who wouldn't want an angel looking down on you?Of course the story is the wisemen followed a star to find the Baby Jesus so mabee your grandma is just following the story.

Both.now a days they have the angel with the star above her so i choose both! makes for a less argumenitive christmas and all for the price of 14.99$ at target ; )
