what about the gas ? if its a couple months old it needs to be drained and replaced with drygas plus 93 octane.get a friend to spray carb clean or gas into the throttle body after u take off tube, while simultaneously cranking it dont press pedal down on fuel injected cars.juice up battery for at least a hour before.also you could unbolt exhaust before the cat or carefully unscrew oxygen sensor to eliminate clogged cat idea.Remember the majority of engine problems come from faulty electrical and intake. for example leaking manifolds ,worn maf air sensors, shotty wires or connectors.
the GM models connectors (the plugs that wires plug into) are the source of many troubles like overheating hard starting
these are just a few suggestions, you little creep ,you have it so easy now with the internet. If you can't find the answers to your problem your not trying hard enough. When i was coming up with no money, youd ask a question and mechanics acted like they were protecting national secrets.I learned by reading and perseverance where as you can go on these forums that have similar engine layouts like camaro thirdgen or the rest and scroll thru to get helpful tips.you can do it

Nothing like troubleshooting and finding out exactly is causing the problem to save money. Gas, Spark and timing are what is needed. If any one is missing find out why. Throwing parts at a problem without troubleshooting it can be a terrible waste of hard earned money.
