An Eiffel Tower snow globe.
A musical one would be best, but you can find the non-musical type cheaper.

I have gay guy friend too. When he was vegetarian and college, I got him a lucite storage jar, filled it with tri-color pasta, got 3 wooden spoons and a vegetarian cookbook. You could hit up the used bookstore for old travel guides of Paris, that might be interesting to see what it was like 30 or 40 years ago. Even one of those homemade brownie mix jars. Just remember, a gift doesn't have to have a gay theme. My friend never gave me anything with a hetero theme. He just knew the stuff I'd want to have.

Give him a gift card to your nearest mall, that way he can shop in any store for something he wants. Why take a chance at buying something he wont like. I know they say it is the thought that counts, but honestly, some people put absolutely no thought into their gifts, then people have stuff they cant use and dont know how to get rid of.

This is easy. I will help you. With the budget in mind, I say go to a Family Dollar/Dollar Tree store. You can get a lot of nice, good things there. First, buy him a card that says it all from you. Then look around and find some Foreign items. They do have them. Then pick up some of his favorite candy and some lottery tickets (everyone loves lottery tickets). Once you have all your items, place them in a basket and place a bow or ribbon on top. You will then have the perfect gift!!
Good Luck and Happy Holidays!!

I work with a couple of guys who are openly homosexual. If your friend is extremely open about his sexual nature...then, you might want to buy him a cheap gift with the rainbow flag symbol on it. You can find lots of homosexual novelty gifts on-line (if you are not too embarrassed to do so...I personally have nothing against homosexuals, even though I am straight and married with a family. It would not bother me to buy such items for a homosexual friend...but, would it bother you???)
Hope my suggestion helps!:-)

How about some thing to decorate his place, or maybe a t-shirt with paris things? You could check into books, cause that might be a good idea. I have friends that are gay, and it is so much easier to get for them sometimes, and fun. Good luck!!!

GET HIM SOME CHOCOLATE!
The history of candy dates back to the first man. The cave man created the idea of candy by eating honey combs and honey. In 1200 B.C. the first cocoa to be grown was grown by the Olmec Indians. Then the Maya natives used cocoa for money. In Maya tombs from 250 B.C they found artifacts of a chocolate drink.
The Spanish Explorers were the first Europeans to taste cocoa in the 1500's. In 1502 the first chocolate drink tasted by modern man was documented. In 1544 the first trace of cocoa in Europe was found. In 1556 the English were the first to sell cocoa. In the 17th century the first hot cocoa maker was made.
The first Dutch cocoa was made in 1828. In 1844 J.S. Fry and his sons were the first to make hard eating cocoa and in the same year the modern chocolate bar was made. In 1864 the first candy store was established. In 1876 Swiss chocolate was made. The first milk chocolate was made in 1879. In the 20th century The Hersey Kiss was made. In 1913 the chocolate bonbon was made. In 1929 the novelty of chocolate covered cherries were made. In 1926 vitamins were added to candy. Candy sales increased in 1997. In 2002 Hershey Industries became the number one candy maker.

My birthday was last week. I was given beautiful presents from my wife, my daughter and my son. Those presents were, some of them, expensive. ( GPS receiver top of the range). HOWEVER... the best thing I got on my birthday were these words from my daughter written on her card for me (verbatim word for word):
" DEAR DAD... YOU ARE SPECIAL IN EVERY WAY, MY NR ONE DAD AND THAT IS BECAUSE WITHOUT YOU THE WORLD, MY WORLD, WOULD NOT BE COMPLETE. HOPE YOU HAVE A FANTASTIC BIRTHDAY BECAUSE YOU DESERVE IT. "
Those words were my favourite present on that day.
So why don't you buy him a beautiful card and tell him what he means to you as a friend. TRUST ME it will reach his heart. Friendship is a fantastic thing. I value mine. They go beautifully alongside the love I have for my wife and children.
