There is nothing in the Bible that says that homosexuality is wrong.
The Catholic church has lots of rules that have no actual basis in the Bible, or the word of God.

Actually the references in the Bible seem to be against "effeminate men" and all forms of "sodomy".
So no - gays should not be singled out.
(and Jesus was not very "butch" himself...)
And the catholics sure love their choir boys! (as do the Mormons)
Now, there is VERY good evidence that Pride Parades could be against the Bible...
The Bible makes frequent references to Pride being a sin...
But that would negate alot of things that Christians and Catholics do every single day.

that's Yahoo solutions! many human beings like to make sweeping generalities here - it gets human beings contaminated and regularly it rather is their purpose (interest). i could not greater paint each and every of the religious with the sins of the few than i could paint each and every of the (put in your fashionable race) for the sins of the few. in the U. S., a small majority of people seem against homosexuals getting married - and prefer all different important project has grow to be a fave polarizing subject count number for applicants. "The Church" in this debate, seems to be many guy or woman parishes a minimum of represented by a small form of church leaders. something of the congregation is often skipped over. maximum Catholics use some form of start administration different than abstinence - however the 1st rate dictum referred to as that a sin. Society is complicated. tries at simplifying it by labeling all and sundry is regularly stupid at ideal and deadly at worst.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
Here is the text of the document, On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, section 2357-2359: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2art6.htm#2357
With love in Christ.

Religin has many things it beleves are wrong but they are teachings to make you have a more christian lifestyle. there are other things that the church doesnt like but poeple do for example birthcontrol is not a good thing in the eye of the church or masterbation but if your sitting in church and you went to hell for doing just those two there would be a lot of souls burinin because lot of people are practicing Birth control and mastarbate. I have said it before here it is again:
the church has rules for you to have a fruitful life but you have to choose the fruit you want to pick

Its from the Bible . The Old Testament is full of anti gay rants , and there is some criticism in the new , tho JC never directly adressed the issue in the version we read today .

I think the people who are against homosexuality are probably locked in the closet.
A good example is all these US politicians who vote against Gays, but then get caugh in compromising positions with men.

EVERY religion is against homosexuality.... They quote "Man shall not lie with man, as with women"... Which was part of the old testament. Book of Leviticus Chapter 20 Verse 13....
Also the book of 1st Corinthians Chapter 11 outlines god's relationship with man and women.
However, God made a "New testament" though... Which is a new "Covenant" (or contract) between man and God. And the new "Testament" supersedes anything promised before it. God says NOTHING law wise about homosexuality in the New Testament though.
The ancient Greeks were very much into Pedophilia and open sexuality and all around everybody sleeping with everybody...
Men with women, women with women,
men with girls.... men with boys...
women with boys... women with girls and so on.......

while there are biblical passages used to condemn homosexuality, they are primarily the laws of man not th eword of god. only the 10 commandments and the teachings of jesus should be taken as the true gospel.
