You're supposed to buy her presents, preferably something she's hinted at wanting badly, especially something expensive that only a parent can afford, wrap them in some sort of paper, and leave them under some sort of pine tree that you put in your living room until Xmas morning when she opens them.
Ornaments, homemade candy, carols, snow, strings of lights, egg nog, stockings hung with care and filled with smaller gifts, etc. are optional.
Glad to help.

Not much detail to go on here, but if you are going through a rough time financially and asking about assistance, you probably need to look for social service agencies in your community (or your daughter's if she is an adult and doesn't live with you.) Most communities have charities such as Salvation Army, women's shelters, YWCA, faith-based organizations, etc. that have special Christmas projects. City and county offices, chambers of commerce, schools, and other local institutions should be able to direct you as to what services and programs are available in your community and how families go about getting on the list for assistance. Some require verification of income/need, and others are based on referrals from a pastor, social worker, etc.
Depending on the circumstances, level of need, and what services are available in your community, you should be able to get some help. You might also want to google Christmas charity organizations or look on Craig's List--there may be some cyberspace resoures out there or even a way to access local resources through the internet somehow.

Check with the Salvation Army, Angel Tree Network, Toys for Tots. Or, you can call the local news channels in your area and they may be able to direct you to the appropriate place. It's different for every state and city.

Are you looking for help financially? If so, check your churches, Lions Club. If you contact your town hall, they should have a department that helps families in need. With rent, food, and holidays

how old is your daughter?
if she's little, every little girl loves barbie houses, even if she is a tomboy. but, if she's a teenager, give her something unique for her room. something that you usually don't see at stores.
